The vacuum carbonization furnace is a professional equipment developed by Hunan Jingtan Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. for the carbonization treatment of carbon/carbon composite materials, polyimide (PI) films, biomass materials, metal powders and other precursors. During the carbonization process of PI films and C/C composites, organic precursors such as resins and asphalt will release a large amount of volatile substances (water vapor, methane, tar, etc.) in a concentrated manner within the medium temperature range of 200-600℃. If the heating rate is too fast or the exhaust channel is not unobstructed, the internal pressure generated by the volatile matter will crack the green body. Tar solidifying in the low-temperature area of the furnace can also clog pipelines and affect the normal operation of equipment. The vacuum carbonization furnace of Hunan Jingtan adopts a multi-temperature zone gradient temperature control design. A heat preservation platform is set up in the temperature range where volatile matter is concentrated to release, allowing the gas to escape slowly and avoiding sudden pressure increases. The equipment is equipped with a decoking system, which enhances the decoking effect. The atmosphere inside the furnace is more stable, making it easier to control product quality. At the same time, it extends the service life of carbon felt and heating materials. This carbonization process is completed under inert gas atmosphere conditions, with high temperature control accuracy and good temperature uniformity inside the furnace.

The heating and insulation system of the vacuum carbonization furnace has also been optimized in accordance with the characteristics of the carbonization process. The equipment adopts square cage-type graphite rods and rod combination heating, which is convenient for maintenance and suitable for both square and circular boat dishes. The front and rear furnace doors can be opened, making operation convenient. The product has good performance and stable quality. The ultra-high temperature furnace body within 2200℃ can be compatible with and meet various carbonization and sintering processes. It adopts resistive heating. The graphite tube heating element has a long service life, good heating effect and is easy to maintain. Uniform heating, reliable insulation and temperature measurement system, advanced furnace design concept, reasonable heating structure, high-quality materials ensure the uniformity of furnace temperature under vacuum conditions, and the temperature difference in the constant temperature zone can be controlled within ±7℃. The furnace adopts temperature measurement elements of both domestic and international brands to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurement.

 

In terms of atmosphere and vacuum control, the vacuum carbonization furnace is equipped with an efficient vacuum system and atmosphere regulation device. The cold-state ultimate vacuum degree of the equipment can reach 1.2×10⁻³Pa, the pressure rise rate is ≤0.5Pa/h, and it has excellent sealing performance. The working atmosphere inside the furnace can be switched between vacuum and inert gas protection (slightly positive pressure). Protective gases such as nitrogen and argon can be introduced to ensure that the furnace is in an inert atmosphere environment. The precise furnace pressure control system operates under a slight positive pressure, effectively preventing air from seeping in and avoiding product oxidation. The unique exhaust system design ensures that volatile substances are promptly discharged from the furnace chamber, preventing secondary deposition and contamination of product surfaces within the furnace. The decoking system equipped with the equipment is environmentally friendly and energy-saving. It does not purify the essence and vacuum discharges gas, effectively protecting the normal operation of the vacuum pump and ensuring excellent decoking effect.

The control system of the vacuum carbonization furnace has achieved fully automatic and high-precision operation. The equipment adopts a digital intelligent temperature control meter, which can communicate data with the PLC to automatically and precisely complete the temperature measurement and control process. The system can heat up according to the given heating curve and can store four 40-segment different process heating curves. A comprehensive PLC automatic control and protection system for water, electricity and gas is available. PLC ensures safety interlocking and features audible and visual alarms for over-temperature, sensor open-circuit, water pressure, furnace overpressure, water flow, and excessively high water temperature. The high-temperature section of the furnace body is cooled naturally, while the low-temperature section can be cooled at a faster rate by filling positive pressure inert gas. With the comprehensive advantages of "decoking and dewaxing system, multi-temperature zone gradient temperature control, and high vacuum sealing", Hunan Jingtan's vacuum carbonization furnace has been widely applied in industries such as cemented carbide, powder metallurgy, carbon fiber, and C/C composite materials.
